Christy joined the Spectrum Team in May 2016 to serve as Program Coordinator of the then-new Community Health Worker program “Access for All” funded by the Missouri Foundation for Health. Since joining Spectrum, additional programs utilizing the Community Health Worker model have been implemented and Christy included program coordination of our contraception program (“The Right Time”) in partnership with the Missouri Family Health Council (MFHC).
Christy graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in General Studies with Business and Communications. Her previous work included over ten years as Membership Coordinator at the Association of Health Care Journalists at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Christy enjoys her work as a Community Health Worker and finds helping people navigate a very complex health care system very rewarding. Teaching people to advocate for themselves and their health is very important to her work. Christy is proud to serve with all her colleagues at Spectrum Health Care to provide culturally competent care for those in need.
In her spare time, Christy enjoys cooking, baking and sailing (weather permitting). Christy is happily married for over 30 years, and a mother of three wonderful children.
